With experience in market research and business development, he can use his skills to help our entrepreneurs and to support projects where our clients need help with sales and related processes.
Having done B2B sales and market research, Viktor has come to understand the importance of being attentive but also vigilant when trying to find an overlap between the client company's needs and the provision of relevant services. Viktor believes it is important to ask the right questions and respond to the client's needs to warm up the contact for the next step.
Let's give Viktor a change to tell a little more about himself.
While not having a background as an entrepreneur or founder, like many here, I have had opportunities to be involved in startups and also worked with financing innovative growth companies. The latter was together with Riku Kokkonen, and via him I heard positive things about the community and the undertaken projects. As it became clear that my skills and experiences in sales among other things could benefit project work and the community as a whole, I came on in December.
In two SaaS companies, I was in sales and especially focusing on expansion to new markets, Scandinavia and the UK, validating both the product and the feasibility of expansion. The first of these, Ticker, was acquired by Euronext. The longest individual career experience was at Fundel, a consultancy for financing growth companies, where I had the responsibility of doing research, validating our offering and also arranging our customer meetings. Besides customer communication and sales in three languages, I also have a strong base in research, data and writing, having studied Psychology.
With experience in both market research and business development, I’m able to offer EIRs and customers effective work in these processes, among other things. Especially cases requiring booking discovery meetings, could be delivered faster with my involvement. At Fundel, I had a success rate of booking a meeting with half of my cold calls. As I have undertaken discovery meetings on my own previously, it is also something that I could do in projects, for example in cases where the EIR team is on a tight schedule. If there is an idea for a sales pitch, target industry or something similar in mind, I’d be more than happy to join in on the planning and execution of these. I work from the Coventures office most days, so let’s have lunch or a chat and see how we could work together.
Having done both B2B sales, and market discovery, I have learned to understand the importance of being attentive, yet vigilant, in trying to find the overlap between the needs of the customer company and the offering of relevant services. In discovery projects, I can take the role of prospecting the targets for discovery interviews, booking the interviews and managing the external communication during projects. Asking the right questions and meeting the customer’s demands in order to warm up the contact into the next phase is also crucial.
At this point, I see two main areas where I want to emphasize the development of my role at Coventures. Firstly, with perfect knowledge and ability to pitch and communicate the value proposition of the platform and our way of working, there is potential to assist in the early stages of selling projects. Secondly, with experience in different projects and industries, I find it likely that I will be able to provide even more value for customers and EIRs in these projects.
