Petri Ahti joins Coventures

Petri Ahti, a Product and Business Development professional, has joined Coventures as an Entrepreneur in Residence. He has a strong leadership background from various executive-level roles. Petri has built his career around fintech and the payments industry and has many demonstrated success stories to share along his career.

At Coventures, Petri will use his extensive experience to help our clients build and manage successful product businesses.

Tell us how you ended up here.

After the company I co-founded and managed was acquired, I decided it was time to take a break and think about what to do next.

I have experience working as a consultant, but I felt that was something I would like to explore even further. I enjoyed helping clients, but working alone without a community wasn't for me.

Around the same time, I stumbled into a LinkedIn post about Coventures and contacted Marko to see if there was something we could do together. The conversations went well, and joining Coventures was an easy decision.

What sort of experiences have you had?

I have experience in managing a fintech company as CEO from startup to scaleup (> 1 MEUR ARR). As the CEO, I gained hands-on leadership and management experience from all aspects of the company: sales, customer service, inventory, purchasing, financial management, accounting, invoicing, team building and leadership, product & brand management, communications, legal & compliance.

I also have broad experience in product leadership and development from the payments industry. I have been responsible for building a product brand, product capabilities and features, product operations (customer onboarding, customer service, invoicing), and product marketing and product-related contracts. Needless to say, always with great teams and people around me!

What are some of the most impactful ventures in your career?

A definite highlight of my career is the sale of Poplapay, where I was the CEO and one of the owners. The company was acquired by Nets in January 2020, and the Poplapay product and team became part of the Nets portfolio of payment products.

As an entrepreneur, how do you help clients grow meaningful businesses?

I have a lot of valuable experience that I can't wait to use to help our customers when they want to build new products and need help with product leadership and getting things done! I am eager to start working with exciting companies, projects, and people.
